Music Tag
I was tagged by Lakshmi on the following:
List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words or even if they’re not any good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your Live Journal/blog along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they’re listening to.
Something i wouldnt resist doing.
1. RTP - nATTakuranji - T R Subramanian
the sAhityam goes as 'ninaippOm maNi mOzhi vazhi naDappOm. mahAtmA gAndiyai'
2. srI kamalAmbhikAyAh param nahi rE - bhairavi
the navAvarNa kriti of today. 5th day of navarAtiri
3. ambA nIlAyadAkshI - nIlAmbari
yesterday afternoon, Sankaran Namboodri sang it on Radio. The TNS version is always on my mind.
4. ETi janma midi hA - varALi
The KVN and Ramnad Krishnan versions are my all time favourites
5. aDukArAduni galku nApai - manOranjani
Another of my current favourites. Namagiripettai Krishnan on his nAdasvaram just creates the effect that keeps me mesmerised.
6. vEnkaTa saila vihArA - hamIrkalyANi
seeing Mysore Duraiswamy Iyengar's name on the blog which tagged me reminds me of his rendition of the song. i was humming hamIrkalyAni this morning and did what i usually do, went into bEhAg.
7. srI kamalAmbAh jayati - Ahiri
another of my all time favourties.
not tagging anybody in particular. anybody who wishes to, can go ahead and write this tag.

Ideal Diet
The following is something a Dietician suggests as an ideal diet suited for the average south indian family. As recollected by my mom after watching a show.
Morning 6 AM - Coffee or Tea or many MILK based drink. about 200 mL
Breakfast between 8 AM and 9 AM
Any indian tiffin item. Idli or Dosa or Upma or Pongal with side dishes like sambar and chutney. To avoid noodles, corn flakes, sauce etc.
Quantity: As much to fill your stomach. Do Not Eat more than what you can fill your stomach with.
11 AM some kind of fresh fruit juice, with enough amount of sugar. about 200 mL again.
LUNCH 12:30 pm to 1:30 PM
A Good Indian Meal. Rice, Sambar, Rasam, Butter Milk, Vegetables, Chapati/Puri. To eat equal amount of Vegetables as Rice and Wheat stuff.
Quantity: As much to fill your stomach. Do Not Eat more than what you can fill your stomach with.
4 PM a Fruit or salad or a cup of boiled pulses (sundal like stuff)
6 PM any milk based drink about 200 mL
Dinner 7:30 PM to 8 PM
Same as Breakfast or Lunch.
NIGHT 10 PM One serving of Butter Milk with salt and other seasoning. about 200 mL
This post is a sequel one of my earlier posts.
Heavy Weight Champion
The doctor apparently claimed that if one could follow this diet meticulously and do enought routine physical work, one can keep the waist size in control. Also, according to the doctor, the key issue is to avoid exotic food. Just because one has access to it, it is not good to thulp a generous serving of Spl Mysore Pak or Thirunelveli Halwa.
One only hopes to stick to it, to the extent possible. The one thing i can definitely not follow is "Sleep atleast by 10:30 PM and wake up by 6 AM"

எருமை மாடு - Buffalo
For those of you who cant get the fonts right or cant read and understand tamil, here is rough translation:
One of the evenings last week, i was speeding on my moped and noticed a few buffaloes being chased out of our campus out gate by the security guards. Just looking at them, made me feel nostalgic of those days when i could chase a number of them on the streets. I dont see them anywhere these days. One only hopes they are still around atleast in Triplicane.
I m reminded of buffaloes only when somebody scolds me..
